Rexall Foundation Donates $5,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-West Durham

Ajax, Ontario (May 10, 2018) – The Rexall Foundation has donated $5,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-West Durham which provides high quality mentorship programming to children and youth across Canada. The donation will go towards supporting 50 children across 6 elementary schools through the Go Girls! Program.
“The Rexall Foundation is committed to improving the health and wellness of children across the country and thrilled to support young girls in need and assist in recruiting 8 adult mentors,” said Brian McLaughlin, Chair, Rexall Foundation. “The donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-West Durham will help provide healthy and positive development across elementary schools in South-West Durham.”
“We are grateful the Rexall Foundation is able to help us deliver our Go Girls! program and we’ll work with Durham District School Board and Durham Catholic District School Board to select schools across Ajax, Pickering, Oshawa and Whitby,” said Alison Heath, Program and Resource Development Coordinator, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-West Durham. “The generous donation from the Rexall Foundation will make a significant impact on our mission to give children a better opportunity to become healthy and confident contributing members to society, leading to healthy, strong and vibrant communities.”
The Rexall Foundation has been helping build strong and vibrant communities by supporting numerous charitable organizations since 2002. Whether it’s a community or children’s hospital or a disease prevention organization, the Foundation values the role it plays in helping the delivery of numerous programs and services in Canada. In 2018, the Rexall Foundation has already donated over $475,164 to 52 charitable organizations that promote the health and wellness of children and seniors, including charities in Ontario, such as Easter Seals Ontario, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation, Hospice Wellington, Project AIM Programs, Geneva Centre for Autism Foundation, plus many more local and national charities across Canada.
