Caring for Caregivers

Critical initiatives like RCN allow the Canadian Down Syndrome Society to provide resources directly to caregivers in the community, ensuring their needs are met. This is vital because people with Down syndrome thrive with support from those around them.

RCN’s generous commitment to the MS Society of Canada will bring us closer to achieving our vision of supporting all people affected by MS, including the real-life heroes who care for them.

Rexall funds have enabled impact, from saving lives through emergency care, to providing child, family and caregiver-friendly facilities and equipment, to designing the future of health for Canadian children.

The realities of caregiving for someone living with ALS can include isolation, feeling overwhelmed, and experiencing anticipatory grief and loss. These funds help invest in the mental health and well-being of the often-overlooked heroes in these challenging situations. We are grateful to the Rexall Care Network’s support and recognition of caregivers and the vital role they play in the lives of people living with ALS.

Thanks to the Rexall Care Network, Food Banks Canada has been able to provide critical resources- like supporting food banks across the country to extend their hours, which better serve caregivers and families in need where Rexall employees and customers live and work. With 30% of caregivers facing higher material deprivation, the time and financial strain that it takes to care for loved ones can make everyday life even harder. Thanks to the support of organizations like Rexall Care Network, we can make a real difference

During our five-month stay at Ronald McDonald House SCO, the Wellness Room sponsored by Rexall Care Network quickly became one of our favourite spaces. Once a week, we’d head down to the massage chairs for what we called our “date night” - a chance to unwind, recharge, and take a breath from the constant stress of the NICU. Those moments of calm helped us reset and face each new day with a bit more strength. We’re so grateful to everyone who made this space possible - it truly helped make the House feel like our home away from home.

Partnering with Rexall Care Network for the Bubble Campaign has helped the Alzheimer Society of Ontario reach more people affected by dementia—raising awareness of our programs, services, and the vital support available for caregivers. The campaign sparked meaningful connections across communities, and we look forward to the opportunity to build on this impactful collaboration in the future.
