Rexall Foundation Donates $10,000 to Learning Disabilities Association of York Region

Richmond Hill, Ontario (April 18, 2018) – The Rexall Foundation has donated $10,000 to Learning Disabilities Association of York Region which provides programs and services for children, youth, adults and families impacted by Learning Disabilities (LDs) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The donation will go towards supporting families of low to moderate income in York Region attending the Social Skills Program.
“There is a growing demand for access to much needed services in York Region, and the Rexall Foundation is pleased to be able to help reduce the wait list for clients that need access to the Social Skills Program,” said Brian McLaughlin, Chair, Rexall Foundation. “We are excited to support the Learning Disabilities Association of York Region as they provide over 250 children and their families across York Region the opportunity to take part in a fundamental program.”
“We are grateful for the Rexall Foundation and their generosity to be selected as a charitable organization being supported. The program teaches vital social skills such as ways to make friends, dealing with emotions and problem solving,” said Helga Sirola, Executive Director, Learning Disabilities Association of York Region. “The donation from the Foundation will make a significant impact to families impacted by LDs and/or ADHD.”
The Rexall Foundation has been helping build strong and vibrant communities by supporting numerous charitable organizations since 2002. Whether it’s a community or children’s hospital or a disease prevention organization, the Foundation values the role it plays in helping the delivery of numerous programs and services in Canada. In 2018, the Rexall Foundation has already donated over $475,164 to 52 charitable organizations that promote the health and wellness of children and seniors, including charities in Ontario, such as Easter Seals Ontario, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation, Hospice Wellington, Project AIM Programs, Geneva Centre for Autism Foundation, plus many more local and national charities across Canada.
