MISSISSAUGA, Ontario – October 18, 2021 – Today, Rexall® is launching its annual flu vaccine campaign, as part of a concerted effort to remind Canadians of the importance of protecting themselves and their loved ones from getting the flu and spreading it to others.

Every year, tens of thousands of Canadians get sick with the flu, putting extra pressure on hospitals and health care systems across the country, which have recently been strained by the COVID pandemic. While most people will recover after getting the flu, it can be life threatening for people at high risk such as children, seniors, and those living with chronic health conditions like asthma, diabetes or cancer.

Rexall is offering a simple, safe, and convenient way to book and receive your flu shot. Our digital scheduling tool, available online and through the Be Well® app, allows you to book flu shots for you and your family and fill out all of the necessary consent forms at your convenience, in the safety and comfort of your home.  We continue to also have enhanced measures to keep patients and customers safe, such as increased cleaning for high traffic areas and touched surfaces; and hand sanitizing stations located throughout our stores.

Depending on provincial eligibility, customers may also be able to receive their first, second or third (booster) dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at the same time they receive their flu vaccine.

At Rexall, we are anticipating significant demand for flu vaccinations as a result of increased vaccine awareness. We encourage patients and customers to schedule their flu shots in advance to reduce crowds and wait times. Additional staff are on hand to ensure adherence to physical distancing, reduced store capacity limits, the wearing of face masks or coverings and to support our patients’ needs.
