• Why do I need a travel health consultation?

  During your pre-travel consultation, your pharmacist will provide a personalized travel health assessment tailored to your destination and itinerary. They will inform you about potential health risks and necessary precautions to protect your health during your travels. They will collaborate with prescribers to help you obtain any necessary vaccines or travel medications requiring prescriptions.

• What is the cost for a travel health consultation?

  A Rexall travel health consultation costs $40 per person regardless of the destination you're travelling to. Prescriptions, medications, and vaccine administration fees are not included in the consultation fee.

• Will my provincial health plan cover the cost of a travel health consultation?

  No, travel consultations are not covered by provincial health plans. Some medications and vaccinations may be covered by private or extended health care plans. To learn more, reach out to your health plan provider or employer.

• How do I prepare for my travel health consultation appointment?

  You will be asked to complete a travel consult form online during the booking process. This form must be completed before your appointment. A Rexall Pharmacist will review your form and contact you by phone at the time of your appointment.

  To make the most of your consultation, come prepared on the day of your appointment with questions, travel plans (e.g. excursions, activities, accommodations, etc.), and any details about existing health conditions and medications you're taking. You should bring (if available) a list of all the medications you take including non-prescription medications and details of any health benefits.

• How long do travel health consultations typically last?

  Your travel consultation may take up to 30 minutes.

• Where can I get a travel health consultation near me?

  You can receive a travel health consultation from our Virtual Pharmacist team anywhere in Canada. After the consultation, your virtual pharmacist will direct your prescription to one of our 370 Rexall pharmacies nationwide with locations in major cities such as Calgary, Victoria, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Vancouver, Toronto, Surrey, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Kingston, and Regina.
